This year, the USSR began to mint coins of aluminum bronze of 5, 3, 2 and 1 kopeks. The decree was announced on January 15, 1926. The backs of all the bronze coins were made with vertical notches.
Of the silver coins, only “one fifty dollars” was minted (50 kopecks). In those years, the Soviet fifty-fifty rubles printed on the London and Leningrad mints, respectively, the herds of these coins were made with the initials of the minzmeister of Thomas Ros and Pavel Latyshev. Also on the gurts was the inscription "Fine Silver 9 g.".
On all coins of this year in the center of the obverse is the emblem of the USSR, which frames the communist slogan - “Proletarians of all countries, unite!”. Coins of aluminum bronze were printed only at the Leningrad Mint, nowadays the rarest of them - face value of 1 kopek.
In 1926, the following coins were issued:
- 50 kopecks, material - silver, sample 900, weighing 10 grams and with a diameter of 26.67 millimeters, circulation - more than 24,000,000 pieces;
- 5 kopecks, the material - aluminum bronze, weighing 5 grams and a diameter of 25 millimeters, circulation - 14,697,000 copies;
- 3 kopecks, material - aluminum bronze, weighing 3 grams and with a diameter of 22 millimeters, circulation - 19940000 pieces;
- 2 kopecks, material - aluminum bronze, weighing 2 grams and 18 millimeters in diameter, circulation - 1,05053,000 copies;
- 1 kopek, material - aluminum bronze, weighing 1 gram and with a diameter of 15 millimeters, circulation - 87915000 pieces.
This year, the following countries were minted:
- Italy - 10 and 5 centesimo, 5 and 2 lira, made of copper;
- Greece - 1, 2 drachmas and 50 mites, made of copper-nickel alloy;
- Ceylon - 25, 5 and 1/2 Ceylon cents, made of silver;
- Austria - 1 shilling, made of silver;
- Albania - 1 lek, made of nickel;
- Chile - 100 and 50 pesos, made of gold;
- Belgium - 10 centimes, made of copper-nickel alloy.
