The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is one of middle East countries. From 92.3 thousand square kilometers of territory belonging to the Kingdom, a little less than 80 thousand falls on the desert land. So the problem with water is inevitable. Agriculture is possible only in the North-Western part of the country. The Dead sea and the Gulf of Aqaba bring a good profit to the Treasury of the Kingdom. The world-famous ancient Petra is also located here and increase the tourist flow to Jordan.
The Palestinian pound in 1950 gave way to the national currency is the Jordanian Dinar. Dinar is formed dirname ten, or a hundred piastres (CIRS), or one thousand Fils. In 1949 he prepared the first batch of new coins. It was Fils: 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Fils. Interestingly, the coin in one Fils was a mistake: missing the last letter of the name is "C". To buy the "wrong" coins Jordan is a great joy and luck for numismatists. After all, such a mistake always significantly raises the value of the coins, as Jordan and any other state.
1 Fils were minted before 1985. In 1965, ceased to mint 20 Fils, and three years later released the denominations of 25 Fils. In 1970 appeared a quarter of a Dinar. Half a Dinar, and one Dinar coin from 1996.
But since 1992, the Fils and the dirhams in the calculation is no longer involved. Now in the catalogue of the coins of Jordan left½, 1, 2½, 5 and 10 piastres and¼, ½ and 1 Dinar. It is easy to guess that all Jordanian coins decorated with portraits of ruling monarchs.
The price of the coin Jordan (without interesting incidents) is considered to be quite acceptable.
