Swiss canton

In the XVIII century the population of Switzerland increased, industry and trade developed. There is a need for new banknotes, coins with a higher nominal value. Swiss cantons in the XVIII century represent a Confederation of 13 independent cantons and lands with limited sovereignty, as well as subordinate territories. Cantons, municipalities issue their banknotes.
Canton zoloturn, which was formed in 1481, produces in 1760 coins of silver and billon, different nominal value. Silver coins:
- 1 Kreuzer;
- 4 Kreuzer;
- 4 Kreuzer, other design;
- 10 Kreuzer;
- 20 Kreuzer.
Minted coin of billon: ½ batzen.
The monetary unit 1 Kreuzer has on the obverse the abbreviated designation of the Canton: "Malt". On the front side, in the center, there is a weapon shield, on both sides of which signs are applied: O and S. On the reverse, inside the circle, there is a cross, in the corners of which there are decorative leaves, in the form of an ornament. In the circular inscription – a legend with the text: all in God. At the bottom – date of issue.
Coin denominations of 4 Kreuzer, is similar with face value of 1 Kreuzer, the design of the obverse. The difference lies in the fact that the shield is made of decorative sprigs on top of the crown at the bottom indicate the reduced face value: CR. 4. The reverse of the coins differs. On the reverse side of the face value of 4 Kreuzer, in a circle, is a crowned cross, which is braided symbol S. in A circle – decorative design twigs. In legend, the text is applied: all for God. At the bottom – date of issue.
The front side of the other coin, with a face value of 4 Kreuzer, is made similarly, only instead of twigs is decorated with ornament. The reverse side is similar in design to the face value of the coin 1 Kreuzer, where instead of twigs ornament is depicted.
On the obverse of the coin there are 10 kreuzer, the shield is decorated with a crown and decorative elements in the form of twigs. On the reverse, in the center of the intersection of the cross, woven symbol S. Decorative design of the reverse side is performed in the form of larger than the previous denominations, branches. The denomination is indicated at the bottom of the sign, the date of issue – in the legend.
Money sign 20 Kreuzer executed similarly par 10 Kreuzer, with minor variations in decorative design.
The design of the ½ batzen coin is similar to the monetary unit 1 Kreuzer, with minor decorative differences.
