In late April of this year, the Central Bank of Russia began issuing a whole series of coins dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Victory of the USSR in the war against Nazi Germany. Coins were not received in monetary circulation, but were issued as gift booklets.
The kit also included a token of the mint, founded by Peter I in St. Petersburg. In total, the set consisted of coins of 6 denominations - from 1 to 100 rubles (1,5,10,20,50,100). All coins were minted in the Leningrad Mint.
Coins priced at 10, 20 and 100 rubles were made of nickel silver (copper / nickel), and 1, 5, 50 rubles were made of brass (copper / zinc). All coins have different sizes and weights. The print quality “uncirculated” was applied, which did not involve the circulation of coins in the money supply - this could lead to mechanical damage to the surface.
The denominations of the aforementioned coins were minted not in numbers, but in letter form. For example, "one ruble." The circulation of coins was 200 thousand copies of each nominal.
