The last of the monarchs of the empire, Nicholas II, began to rule his power in 1894.
The catalog of coins under Nicholas II was replenished with a whole series of gold denominations. To the semi-imperial before that (5 rubles) and the imperial (10 rubles) in 1897, 7 ½ and 15 rubles joined. On the occasion of the coronation, 25 gold rubles were minted in 1896. 100 francs (37 ½ rubles) extended the coin line in 1902. Periodically stamped gift coins (donative) and memorabilia. Nicholas II planned to switch the country to a new currency: the Rus. In 1895, they even stamped test samples at 15, 10, and 5 Russa. But they did not receive the approval of the emperor, and the Russ were not launched into production.
