Historically it is known that in April 1961 the first manned flight into space was made. On the 40th anniversary of this date in Russia, a ten-ruble coin was issued with the image of Y. Gagarin on it. On both sides of the coin in the center is a nickel silver disk and a yellow brass ring surrounding it. On the reverse of the coin there is a portrait of the first cosmonaut dressed in a spacesuit. Below is the signature of Yuri Gagarin. It matches the shape of the facsimile. The coin had a circulation of 20 million units, therefore it is not uncommon.
As for the two-ruble coin, it also belongs to the above series. The circulation of this coin amounted to 20 million pieces, so it is difficult to attribute it to the rarely encountered. But there is a batch of coins of 2 rubles, which do not have a mint stamp. In ordinary commemorative 2-khrublevok stamps MMD or SPMD are located under the branch of the pattern on the reverse. But if there is no mint stamp on the coin, then such a coin is a rarity. It can be found in a single copy among 1000 coins of 2 rubles.
Coins of issue of 2001, having face values of 1 and 2 rubles, have their own interesting history. These two coins were not officially intended for use. But, nevertheless, part of the product fell into circulation. True, its amount remains a mystery to humanity. A 1 ruble coin is considered the rarest and most expensive in modern Russia.
