The year 1975 was marked by many interesting events, most of which were a change in the national currency. There were many reasons for this, but for the most part, the new currency was approved by reason of independence.
In 1975, the Republic of Mozambique gained independence. From this point on, the local national currency was the metical, which was divided into 100 centimes. Coins were issued in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 centimes, as well as 1 metikal. The highest denomination was a 2.5 metal coin. The profile of the first president of Mozambique was placed on all the coins.
The state of Papua New Guinea also asserts its currency, kin, divided into 100 of that. In the same year, the minting of coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 denominations begins, as well as the more valuable 1, 5, and 10 kin.
The State of Peru has also come to a decision to change the national currency. This was accompanied by a huge inflation in the country. Inti came to replace the salts. The exchange of old currency for a new one was made at a rate of 1000: 1.
However, the facts do not end there. You can additionally note the following points:
1. In Cambodia, 1975 was very painful. It was then that the Khmer Rouge came to power, canceling the banking and monetary system. The minting of any banknotes was canceled, and rice and other foodstuffs were temporarily the currency.
2. Also, this year was marked by the minting of jubilee coins in Canada. It was there that $ 10 silver coins were issued, dedicated to the Olympic Games in Montreal. Coins were minted in advance, because the game had to go in 1976.
3. This year, the Republic of Bangladesh began minting new coins of 1 taka.
