The beginning of the XVIII century is characterized by a variety of coins, which are rare, because they are minted in small editions. So, in 1729, before unification into the kingdom, the Italian states issued coins of various denominations and types.
Minted loose change is minted: 5 soldi, from billon. The name of this coin comes from the gold solid. It is believed that the word: soldo, gave the name to the word: soldier. His life has a low value, like the coin for which he was hired. The weight of the coin is 1.4 g. Obverse: the central shield is topped with shields with four arms. The reverse: standing Saint Catherine holds a palm branch and a wheel. The inscription is applied, in the form of a sign "V".
Coin 10 soldi, weighing 2.4 g, made of silver. On the obverse: in the baroque frame is a shield with crowns, with four arms, with a shield in the center. Reverse: a rearing horse, located to the left, and an inscription, in the form of an "X". The coin is known only by description, there is no available image.
The Venice Mint minted in 1729 a gold osella with a nominal value of 1 and a weight of 13.9 g. On the obverse: sitting on the left, Saint Mark with a staff, a cross and a pennant. On the right is kneeling doge. The reverse: the crowned female figure is directly located in the form of an allegorical image of Venice. Downstairs sits the lion of St. Mark. On the right is an allegorical female figure of affluence, with a cornucopia, and a sprig with leaves.
1 Italian ozella, in silver, weighing 9.5 g, measuring 36 mm, which was released this year, is framed as gold. Both of these coins are rare numismatic copies, and not minted in standard editions.
Another numismatic coin was made in 1729 - 1 silver osella, with the same weight: 9.5 g, but in size: 37 mm. Obverse: oval weapon shield, surrounded by laurel branches. In the center are two oval screens of handles. Reverse: four weapon oval shields, arranged in pairs, one above the other, with laurel branches and the release date, which is printed below.
