Italian states produce more coins in 1724 than other countries - 12 items. Coins of standard circulation are minted, and as a numismatic product to which the coin of the medal type belongs: osella. In some sources, such coins are called - Osella.
The Venice Mint minted two gold coins - weighing 13.83 g and 13.95 g, 36 mm and 37 mm in size, respectively. These coins belong to the unusual coins of the world.
On the obverse of the coin 13.83 g: on the left - a seated Saint Mark with a staff, on which is a cross and a banner, on the right - there is a doge on his knees. The reverse depicts the figure of the goddess of justice, who holds in his hands the scales and the sword. In the lower right corner sits the Lion of St. Mark, in the left corner - the view of St. Mark's Square.
The reliability of the image of a gold coin, weighing 13.95 g, is not confirmed.
In the same year, two silver coins are issued. One of them, weighing 9.5 g and measuring 36 mm, is also drawn up like a gold coin, with the same size - 36 mm. These coins, like gold, are considered unusual.
The other coin on the obverse has small oval shields with handles, one on top, two in the middle. On the reverse side are four shields: two of them are located at the top, at the bottom are two more shields, and the release date.
Osella is a donative coin, the so-called gift coinage of the money of the Republic of Venice. Such coins are not issued for circulation, but for distribution. Translated from Italian, the coin is called: bird. The managing magistrate, as New Year's gifts, gave the birds, then they were replaced with coins. Their initial cost was equal to the price of gifts: birds, food.
In 1724, the states of Italy also minted coins:

- 1 shop, made of gold;
- 1 soldo, from billon;
- 1 ducat, of gold;
- 1 Ruspon, in gold;
