The history and stages of development of the state can be traced, if we study coins from different periods. Each historical stage hides for collectors of the find. The year 1717 is different in that a lot of coins were produced, but the appearance and design of some of them are still established. There are coins that are poorly preserved: stuck, damaged, subjected to undercutting.
So, Iran issued this year 18 silver coins, in denomination:
- 1 shahi, weighing 1.34 g, two kinds of coins;
- 2 shahs, weighing 2.68 g, five kinds of coins;
- 5 shahs
- 1 abbasi, weighing 5.34 g;
- 1 abbasi, weighing 5.37 g, six kinds of coins;
- 1 abbasi, weighing 5.4 g;
- 1 ashrafi, weighing 3.5 g, two kinds of coins.
Inscriptions and images of many of the listed coins are preserved only by descriptions.
The Italian states issued 15 silver and gold coins, in denominations of:
- 1 donkey, silver;
- 1 ducat, gold;
- 1 pezza d’oro, golden;
- ½ grosso, made of bilon: low grade gold or silver;
- 1 bologini, from billon;
- 2 denars, copper;
- 1 soldo, from billon;
- ½ lira, silver;
- 1 lira, silver;
- 2 lira, silver;
- 2½ lira, silver;
- 3 lira, silver;
- 1 donkey, weighing 9.7 g, silver;
- 1 donkey, weighing 9.78 g, silver;
- 1 ass, gold.
Among these coins there are also banknotes, which are known only by descriptions.
The Swiss cantons, the territorial units of the state, issued in 1717 nine coins, in denominations of:
- 1 pfenning, billon;
- 2 kreutser, from billon;
- 3 kreutser, from billon;
- 4 kreutser, from billon;
- ½ batesena, silver;
- ¼ thaler, silver;
- 1 shilling, from billon;
- ½ ducata, gold
- 1 blouse from billon;
Among this collection there are also samples of coins that have only descriptions, instead of images.
Spain issued 5 coins in denomination:
- 1 Real, weighing 3.05 g, silver, issued by the Spanish Royal Mint;
- 1 Real, weighing 3.38 g, silver, produced a mint in Seville;
- 1 Real, weighing 3.38 g, silver, produced the Segovia Mint;
- 2 reales, weighing 3.05 g, silver;
- 8 escudos, golden.
Some images are unknown among these copies of coins. This means that such coins were not put up for auction, they are not kept in museums. These secrets have to be solved by historians, coin collectors, collectors.
