One of the significant events of 1991 was the collapse of the Soviet Union. Independent states and a number of unrecognized state formations were formed on the territory of the former USSR.
And, 1992, naturally, was the year when economic reforms began in the post-Soviet space.
This year, Ukraine minted 2,000 copies of a 1-hryvnia coin. True, these rubles were trial, and this sample was not approved. The fact is that the coins were produced at the plant, which previously produced nuts for the railway, in the Luhansk region - the city of Kirovsk. The material was a metal powder, similar in composition to nickel silver. The coins were heavy, so they were not put into circulation.
Coin 25 kopecks, has an interesting history. Part of the coins were minted by the Italian Mint, and part was issued by the Lugansk Machine-Tool Building Plant. In the center of the face of the coin is the small State Emblem of Ukraine. It has a hollow field and a convex trident.
But in the existing rare variety of a 25-ticopeck coin, the stamp field is convex, and the trident remains indented.
In 1992 in Russia the Moscow (MMD) and Leningrad (LMD) mint minted non-magnetic (copper-nickel alloy) 10 rubles. They are not valuable.
But if the coin collector meets a magnetic coin of 10 rubles (MMD), then this is a great success. The material here was steel, lacquered nickel silver.
A real rarity is the jubilee ten - the most valuable coin of Russia. The bimetallic coin was issued to LMD, and it was dedicated to such an event as the Emergency Committee. A pinkish-yellow disc of copper-nickel alloy, elegantly located in the middle of the coin, and framed with a white broad bronze rim.
