The 50-peso collectible Mexican coin minted in 1985 is dedicated to the FIFA World Cup. The special series “The 13th FIFA World Cup 1986” was minted by the state order and represented by a circulation in which there were 234,000 copies of fifty-hectare coins.
This is one of the most striking examples of the period of the 80s of the last millennium. The coin can be an ornament to any numismatic collection. Appearing in 1985, this instance gained fame as one of the most beautiful coins. It has a smooth texture, which makes it easy to store a symbolic coin in specialized albums.
The sports theme of the coin is presented comprehensively. The rapid attack of a football player, as if floating in the air, was emphasized by the designers repeatedly with a “repeating shadow”. From this, the silhouette on one side of the coin appears to be moving.
The year of minting - 1985 - is clearly outlined and contrasted. Below, under the image of a soccer ball, you can see a stylized inscription: "Mexico City 86".
The front side of the coin contains a minted image of an eagle holding a rattler snake in its paws. Branches of stone oak and evergreen laurels are woven with a ribbon of national shades of Mexico, which symbolizes the unity of the people. And the ever-flowering cactus is the beauty and strength of the country.
The ligature weight of the coin is 16.83, and the type of herd is smooth. For stamping this series was used noble silver 925 samples. The quality of coin minting is determined by the Proof category.
