There are many historical facts about which mankind will know many years later. For example, in the USSR in 1965, it was decided to introduce a new tradition in the coinage - the release of commemorative Soviet coins. This year - the year of the anniversary of the great event - 20 years ago, the Soviet Union defeated fascist Germany. So saw the light of 1 ruble 1965 release. The coin was minted by the Leningrad Mint. For the manufacture of coins used copper-nickel alloy with a touch of yellowish hue.
Artists - the creators of the models of the front and back sides of the coin - N. Sokolov and A. Kozlov, and Mr. A. Kozlov was also the author of the modeling of the product, with full enthusiasm and great responsibility reacted to this project.
